A message to my community

I created BrownGirlsHeal as a way to cultivate a community build on authentic love, hearts that desire to heal, be seen, heard, and know that they are not alone. One of the most beautiful things that this journey has taught me, is how important community is. How much love can be birthed, when we surround ourselves with people who not only look like us, but who can resonate and be a reflection of not only our pain but our passion as well.

I’ve been on this journey for over 15 years, and I can tell you, the healing doesn’t stop.

I know how hard it is to feel safe in spaces, especially if those spaces aren’t a reflection to what you see when you look in the mirror. I know how it feels to be afraid to ask for help, because translating what I needed was even foreign to me.

I remember at a very young age, I told myself, I would never allow anyone to go through anything alone.

I create BGH to act and love as a chosen family for those who’s only love comes from water and not blood
